Taylor and Heather enjoyed an amazing woodland wedding at The Dreys. If two people were meant to be together, then these guys are a prime example of just that. It was such a pleasure to be with Taylor and Heather, and an honour to capture their day. Check it all out below.

How did you guys meet, tell me all?
We met at work when H joined my team, I quite fancied her and asked her to take me out on a date, so she did. We hit it off and started dating casually. We got along really well and shared the same interests, despite the age gap (Heather was reluctant to date a 23 year old) and we soon became inseparable and official. We spent most of the beginning of our relationship travelling around Europe together. We have worked on the same team together since, for 5 years now.
How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?
Taylor proposed to Heather in a cottage in the Ayots – it didn’t go to plan because I was supposed to do it in front of a stunning backdrop whilst out on a hike with our dog, after a cosy pub lunch. Instead, the pub wasn’t serving food (we were starving!) and we ended up getting lost on our hike and walked for 6 miles in the wrong direction. I had to call an Uber to come and collect us from a country road in the middle of nowhere and then bribe and beg him to allow us in his Mercedes with our muddy dog and drive us home.
We arrived back to the cottage after dark starving and all we had to eat was a bacon sandwich. I proposed to Heather whilst she was tucking into it.
What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many?
The Dreys was the first and only venue we viewed. Someone from work recommended it to us, and it was perfect. We knew that we wanted a woodland style wedding.
Tell me about your dress? Who was it designed by and was there a particular style you were drawn too?
Taylor – Dress is from Belissima’s in South Woodham. It was the wrong color initially so I had it changed. I wanted something elegant and minimalistic, nothing too glam.
Heather – Dress also from Belissimas’s, I had no idea what I wanted as don’t usually wear dresses. I tried on a few and liked this one.
What was the inspiration/theme/styling of your wedding?
Woodland style generally, a bit boho with some eucalyptus decorations.
What is your first song and why?
Our first song is Rupert Holmes Escape. We know it is unusual, but we love this song and we always dance to it or sing along to it on road trips together. We love the meaning and story behind it. It’s a fun song, everyone knows it and we want something fun to dance too.
What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?
Heather – Elope and get married alone in Las Vegas!
Taylor – Try to relax and enjoy it. Use pintrest and Etsy for inspo. Keep it simple, and don’t invite too many people.
