Winters Barns wedding // Sarah and Lewis

Winters Barns weddingSarah and Lewis’s rustic Winters Barns wedding was just gorgeous. Even with the rain falling late in the afternoon, it didn’t stop these guys having a fantastic wedding. These guys just didn’t stop smiling! Check out their amazing day below.

First names: Lewis & Sarah
Ages: 23, 26
Wedding date: 30.08.2018
Venue: Winter Barns, Canterbury, Kent.

How did you guys meet, tell me all?

Lewis and I met while working at the hospital. We were working in the same area this particular day, Lewis and I had been chatting all shift. Towards the end of the shift I realised that I needed some moisturiser for my hands as they had become really chapped because of the air-conditioned rooms. I asked Lewis who swiftly found me some, little did I realise it was going to bring me out in the most horrendous rash. Later that day I messaged Lewis explaining what had happened, which highly amused him and from then on we spoke daily and the rest is history.

How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?

Lewis proposed while away on holiday in Ibiza. I had absolutely no idea. The family holiday had been arranged a long while and we were both really excited. Lewis was acting really strange the whole journey there. When we arrived at security at the airport he began acting even more strange, like every other passenger our hand luggage was scanned through the x-ray machine but Lewis’ bag flagged up. Security pulled him to one side and began opening his bag. At this point I went to follow him which frustrated he told me to go away. Once security had finished we decided to continue with our holiday.

While away Lewis had organised our traditional “date night”. Once all dressed and ready a luxury chauffeured car came to collect us from the hotel which drove us to a remote location on the island. It was a beautiful cove with a restaurant right on the beach. It was beautiful. There was a dressed table with oil lanterns and a totem pole gazebo, we had a five course meal with champagne and after the meal he got down on one knee to propose, and of course I said yes after a cheeky picture of him on one knee.

What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many?

Lewis had found the venue online. While looking through the pictures I fell in love with it. We arrange to go over and look around the barn and we both agreed it would be perfect. Its exclusivity set in a beautiful 1800’s barn was exactly what we both wanted.

What was the inspiration/theme of your wedding?

We needed little inspiration as the character of the barn helped us choose the theme of our country wedding.

What is your first song and why?

Ed Sheeran- Tenerife Sea. We found it very difficult to find our first song but while at our food tasting evening this song came on and we both really liked it.

What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?

Spend money on the things that will last e.g rings, photographer. Enjoy every minute of organizing it!
