With the sun shining down, Adam and Eve had a fabulous Winters Barns wedding celebration. This date had been postponed on numerous occasions due to the dreaded ‘C’ word and national lockdowns. With the official marriage taking place last year, while restrictions were still in place, it was so great to finally see Adam and Eve get the proper celebration they deserved. Check it all out below.

First names: Eve & Adam
Ages: Both 31
Wedding date: 24th July 2022
Venue: Winters Barns, Canterbury

How did you guys meet, tell me all?

A classic case of swiping right on Tinder after Eve always said she would never date and “Adam” and has ended up marrying one.

How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?

We flew to New York on New Years Eve 2018 to watch the ball drop in Times Square. However the rain was torrential and despite making it to Times Square we never did stay for the midnight count down. The following day we spent seeing the Statue of Liberty and One World Trade Centre before heading over Brooklyn Bridge in the evening. We got engaged by the Hudson river in Dumbo park at the base of Brooklyn Bridge before going for a celebratory dinner at The River Café.

What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many?

Winters Barns was the very first venue we saw however we went on to look at multiple others. None of these others could compare with how we felt about Winters Barns for both the setting and the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff there.

Tell me about your dress? Who was it designed by and was there a particular style you were drawn too?

The dress was selected at Love Bridal in Crystal Palace during the first “trying on” of the dresses. The dress selected was in fact nothing like Eve had in mind or what she went in for. Eve gave her idea of the different styles she liked but the bridal stylist had other ideas in mind and Eve fell in love with the dress.

What was the inspiration/theme/styling of your wedding?

Unfortunately like so many other couples we had multiple postponements due to covid. We count ourselves lucky to have been able to marry in 2021 just 3 days after restrictions were eased, having an all outdoor wedding with just 12 guests. As a result this 2022 wedding we wanted little stress and a fun atmosphere we could share with all of our friends. As a result we have kept it casual, removing a repeated ceremony, having garden games and a bbq buffet. We really hope to have all the fun and party atmosphere we missed out on at the first wedding.

What is your first song and why?

Our first song was Michael Buble – When I Fall in Love. We couldn’t agree on a song as have different music tastes and had a play list set up with various suggestions. We both love Michael Buble and in the end this song was chosen.

What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?

Do what you want to do and not what you think other people expect. It’s your day, if you want a certain meal then have it even if it’s not everyone’s favourite. Less is more and the less stress and worry you can have the better, even the best plans can fall foul of a global pandemic.
