Alana and Carl had a gorgeous Winters Barns wedding in Kent. With the sun shining, we were treated to an outside ceremony, followed by a beautiful wedding breakfast in the barn. These guys had such a fabulous day and you can check it all out below.

How did you guys meet, tell me all?

We met in Rochester, on a night out. We were introduced by a mutual friend.

How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?

We had a holiday planned with friends of ours, to visit New York close to Christmas time. We went exploring in Central Park one day and on a picturesque bridge, with a saxophone playing in the background, Carl proposed. It was all caught on camera & film because everyone knew about it apart from me! 

What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many?

We visited around 11, including ours. We loved the barn feel, it felt romantic and warm and could just picture us having our special day there. 

Tell me about your dress? Who was it designed by and was there a particular style you were drawn to?

I tried on so many dresses, I almost gave up. I very nearly cancelled my appointment but decided to go and found my dress. Even when the lady pulled it, I wasn’t as keen but then when I put it on, I did love it. Also everyone agreed it was the one. 

What was the inspiration/theme/styling of your wedding?

Not really any theme particularly, we wanted simplistic, romantic and fun. The barn played a lot in the decisions purely because we feel it gives off its own vibe. 

What is your first song and why?

You are the reason – Leona Lewis & Callum Scott. The words just resonate with us. When we first listened to it, we both loved the words and the emotions it made us feel so we decided on it then and there. We sometimes dance to it and still feel that emotion so felt it was the right choice.

What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?

Plan ahead, think of the little things that make it personal to you and your partner, making it your wedding. Do not worry about what everyone else thinks, do whatever is going to make your day perfect and what you and your partner can look back on and reminisce.
