Sophie and Adam’s beautiful and elegant wedding at The Secret Garden in Kent was simply gorgeous. This intimate setting, with it’s rustic and english garden theme gave that quintessential British summer time feeling, complete with a traditional picnic. However, it turned very quickly into a full on party in the evening, with some funky dancing to boot! Such a cool wedding and it was an honour to capture Sophie and Adam’s big day. How did you guys meet, tell me all?
We met at uni when we where both studying for our Jewellery design degrees. It took us months to finally talk to each other despite bumping into one another all the time! It wasnt until I plucked up the courage and suggested to go out for a drink, that we finally started dating.
How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?
We got engaged in Mexico. Adam had arranged a private dinner on the beach for just the two of us. As the sunset, little did I know, he had my engagement ring with him. Not only had he kept it safe and a secret, he had also designed and made it in his workshop! My very own piece of Adam Mclaren Jewellery! (Ross’ edit – very very cool!!)
What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many?
We had arranged to view several venues and The Secret Garden was the first venue we went to see and right there and then we knew it was the right place for us.
What was the inspiration/theme of your wedding?
The venue offers an intimate setting with a rustic, English garden theme which is exactly what we wanted.
What is your first song and why?
Our first song is by the Water Boys and is called ‘How long will I love you’.
What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?
Enjoy every single second of it! But make sure that you do what you want to do and you don’t make compromises for others! Also give yourself plenty of time, it is far less stressful.
