Wedding at The Gallivant // Amy and Nick

Wedding at The Gallivant at camber sands.Amy and Nick’s wedding at The Gallivant on Saturday, down at Camber Sands was beautiful. Being able to walk through the sand dunes while the sun is shining, you don’t get much better than that. Especially when the registrar reads an excerpt from the Big Bang Theory. Check out their amazing day below.

First names: Nick & Amy
Ages: Nick 32 & Amy 33
Wedding date: 13/10/18
Venue: The Gallivant, Rye

How did you guys meet, tell me all?
We met 13 years ago whilst working at Blockbuster. From our very first shift together we didn’t stop talking!

How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?
We got engaged on Christmas Eve 2016 during a romantic walk through the woods. The woods hold a special place in Amy’s heart because they were her childhood playground. There is one specific place in the woods where there is a large boulder nicknamed “The Stone” where Amy used to play with her siblings. It’s one of her favourite places and means a lot to her and her family. This was where we got engaged and now it’s even more special.

What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many?
The Gallivant was the first and only venue we looked at. We had already discussed that we wanted a wedding by the sea as Nick grew up by the coast and it ticked all the boxes for us. We didn’t feel like we needed to look anywhere else as it was exactly what we wanted.

What was the inspiration/theme of your wedding?
The main thing we wanted our wedding to be was relaxed, therefore it was important to us that everything took place under one roof (ceremony and reception). We felt it was important that the wedding reflected us and therefore wasn’t too grand!!

What is your first song and why?
Our first song is Sweetest Devotion by Adele. We were lucky enough to see Adele live in London after we got engaged and when we heard this song live it seemed perfect.

What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?
Take the time to organise the wedding you really want. Don’t rush it. Oh and keep a spreadsheet with dates and costs, this has been invaluable to us!
