Sarah and Marco’s wedding at The Ferry House Inn was simply beautiful! After 2 years of planning and one postponement, these guys were finally married and I couldn’t be happier for them. We were even treated to a little golden hour later in the day, as the clouds parted and gave way to some rather gorgeous light. Not wanting to miss it, we headed out halfway through the wedding breakfast to capture some beautiful frames. Check it all out below.
First names: Sarah Brooks & Marco Alves
Ages: 35 & 38
Wedding date: 24/10/21
Venue: The Ferry House Inn
How did you guys meet, tell me all?
We can’t decide. I think it was at a BBQ at our mutual friends house however Marco thinks it was a separate date where I bumped into my friend in town and he happened to be with her. I vaguely remember this however this would have only been a very brief ‘hi and bye’ introduction whereas the BBQ was where we actually got talking.
How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?
Marco created a treasure hunt around the house on Christmas Day. All the clues were linked to events in our relationship. The final clue was under our then 18 month old Darcy’s T-shirt. He was wearing a vest saying “will you marry my daddy”
What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many?
No we didn’t look at many – maybe 2 or 3 but The Ferry House was the only one we visited. Marco found the Ferry House online and as soon as he showed me I knew it was exactly what I had in mind.
What was the inspiration/theme of your wedding?
Rustic and natural. Nothing too elaborate.
What is your first song and why?
A Thousand Years – Christina Perri. No particular reason. Marco chose it which surprised me but I really liked the song and the fact that he chose it made it special for me. Then when our daughter was born in March this year it just happened to be playing in the operating theatre as she was born so that added even more meaning to it.
What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?
Try to avoid a pandemic!!
