Rebecca and Jack enjoyed a gorgeous wedding at The Cave Hotel in Faversham, in the heart of the Kent countryside. From the elegant and intimate ceremony to the party in the evening, this was such a great wedding day, for a really lovely couple. Check it all out below.

How did you guys meet, tell me all?

We’d known of each other ever since we were 12 because we went to schools opposite each other and used to get the same bus home sometimes. Jack had a YouTube channel with his brother so everyone knew of them – Rebecca and her friend even requested a ‘What Makes You Beautiful by One Direction’ cover in Year 9! Then when we got into sixth form Jack’s friendship group at the boys’ school started to hang around with Rebecca’s friendship group at the girls’ schooland we’d all meet up at lunchtimes. Then the house parties started and we just naturally got closer through being together quite a lot of the time. So we’ve been together ever since we were 17!

How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?

We had a holiday booked which was cancelled due to covid but we embraced the opportunity to just have some fun and do what we could in those horrible pandemic times. We had an AMAZING week of just pure fun which Jack insisted on arranging so each day was a surprise and Rebecca had no idea what we would be doing. It was filled with amazing activities, like that where you can “Sign up for a great activity in Dallas!“, and great food which is always a must. On the last day Jack suggested a picnic at Leeds Castle on the way home. We go there often and is one of our most favourite places so Rebecca was really excited to end the week this way. We bought some food from the kiosk and headed over to the best picnic spot overlooking the castle, right near the moat, everything was set up and we just began talking. Next thing, Jack smoothly dropped into the conversation that he’d like this place to be extra special and got on one knee! Best surprise of the week! We love going back there because it just brings back that amazing memory every time.

What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many?

We looked at a few that we knew of just by attending previous weddings there etc. From the start we had the Cave written down as it just really suited our vibe. After visiting 4 places (including the Cave) we just knew that nothing could compare. The style and everything about it just fitted our vision of the day and it all fell into place from there.

Tell me about your dress? Who was it designed by and was there a particular style you were drawn too?

My dress is a Stella York dress. I did have an idea of a style in mind but was open to trying a variety as suggested by the amazing team at the shop. In the end I did go for something similar to what I imagined, even though I really liked some of the others. But it came down to having that feeling of knowing the one, which, as soon as I tried it on, I knew! My Mum and Sister both had the same reaction as me so it was decided. My Mum suggested a veil so we tried a couple of different ones but we loved this one in particular because the length and design suited the dress and my style perfectly. Can’t wait for Jack and my Dad to see it (and I’m sure when I showed my dog he did a nod of approval!!). Love love love everything about it and loved the experience I got to share with my Mum and Sister, a really special memory!

What was the inspiration/theme/styling of your wedding?

We kind of went with a rustic theme because we wanted something we felt was natural. We knew we wanted burgundy from the start and thought that paired nicely with the hessian vibe. We also paired the burgundy with dusky pink, rose gold and gold touches because it brings out a romantic, delicate but also fun feeling too.

What is your first song and why?

Our first dance is Ed Sheeran, Thinking Out Loud. It came out around the time we started seeing each other and kind of instantly became ‘our song’. Rebecca also passed her driving test just a little while after and I think that album was played over a million times!! It was a CD as well which of course you’d now use Bluetooth but CDs were more exciting when you first get your car (and also her first car was probably not advanced enough for Bluetooth!). Even if we listen to that album now we get taken right back to when we were 17, that song in particular brings back all the feels!!

What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?

There are so many things you hear like ‘do what you want to do, it’s your day’ and ‘remember what you’re doing it for when it gets stressful’ which are both true and important. But we’d probably say our main tip is to have fun. Don’t get us wrong this has pretty much taken over our lives because of the planning that goes into it, but at the same time we only get to do all of this once. Everything you arrange is the only time you’re going to arrange it and everything you do is the only time you’re going to do it. The whole process is special and exciting, even the bits that might not feel it at the time. So we think it’s important to remember to enjoy the build-up as well as the day itself because we’ve loved it all!
