Jane and Lee had their wedding at Rowhill Grange surrounded by their closest family and friends. With children taking key roles and not an adult bridesmaid in sight, this truly was a beautiful wedding. Family mean so much to this wonderful couple and it showed during this wedding. Check out Jane and Lee’s wedding day below.
First names: Lee & Jane
Ages: 34 & 39
Wedding date: 19 August 2016
Venue: Rowhill Grange, Wilmington
How did you guys meet, tell me all?
We met at work! It took us several months to get together. I first threw a glass of wine over his jeans in the local pub – red wine nonetheless! A few months later we got talking at the Department Christmas party but it still took until the Summer of 2009 when I joined the softball team before we got together.
How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?
We got engaged on the fifth anniversary of our first date, in the gardens of the Eiffel Tower. Lee got down on one knee, ring box in hand, popped the question and I said…… “you’ve got to be kidding me” swiftly followed by “yes”!!! I had long since given up hope that it would happen!
What made you choose your wedding at Rowhill Grange, did you look at many?
It took a year to find Rowhill Grange – I went with my Mum to an open evening and fell in love with the gazebo area immediately. The whole venue made me cry – in a good way, so I knew it was the one and had to hope that Lee felt the same but we didn’t go back until a couple of months later at their next open day and luckily Lee agreed!
What was the inspiration/theme of your wedding?
Having got engaged by the Eiffel Tower it seemed only right that the theme of our wedding should be based around this. All the table names are named after landmarks we have visited whilst in Paris and there are quirky little tributes throughout the venue.
What is your first song and why?
We actually had two in the end but this was quite a tricky one for us as the song we most goof about to is Kings of Leon – Sex on Fire. We didn’t think that appropriate for a first dance (!) and we also wanted something quite upbeat. We ended up choosing Jason Mraz – I’m Yours. We liked the words and the beat of the song meant that we could just bop about on the dance floor and not take it too seriously. Then we launched into Sex on Fire afterwards!
What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?
Leave it to the most organized person out of the both of you! Plus don’t always set your heart on things – for whatever reason things don’t always go the way you necessarily would like – be prepared to be flexible and don’t get stressed about things that are out of your control. What will be, will be. To focus on the magic of the wedding instead of the stress that comes with it, products like CBD Oil are ideal.
