Pandora and Andrew enjoyed a gorgeous wedding at Port Lympne, in the heart of the Kent countryside. From the elegant ceremony to the all-out party, this was such a great wedding day, surrounded by their closest friends and family. Check it all out below.
First names: Pandora and Andrew
Ages: 30 (for both of us, 2 days apart!)
Wedding date: 10th June 2023
Venue: Port Lympne Safari Park, Kent.
How did you guys meet, tell me all?
We were lucky to meet the old-fashioned way through a friend. Despite living 200 miles apart, after many a mutual event (from James Bay concerts to punting in oxford and all-day drinking), Panda knew what she wanted and we made the long-distance work for 3 years.
How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?
Being practical people, we were both adamant we wanted a house first. So Andrew proposed on the doorstep as we got our keys, with all our new neighbours peering through the windows watching and the builders clapping.
The proposal photos (caught by his mum) now hang in our hallway.
What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many?
We loved the ethos of Port Lympne. Hosting our wedding at an animal reserve knowing the money goes to a good cause. Our guests get to enjoy the animals, the food is all local and the beautiful new spaces they’ve built, we knew it was perfect as soon as we arrived.
Weve dragged all our family hundreds of miles to enjoy the beautiful spot and can’t wait to visit for anniversaries to come.
What was the inspiration/theme/styling of your wedding?
We wanted to keep true to the venue and be as sustainable as possible. All of our stationary is seedpaper and lots of elements are being reused/recycled. We obviously lent into the Zoo theme so you’ll see touches of that, but most of our budget is spent on things our guests will interact with and enjoy.
What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?
Get everything in writing from your vendors and never underestimate the power of a good spreadsheet!
