Wedding at Long Furlong Barn // Grace and Dan

Grace and Dan’s wedding at Long Furlong Barn in West Sussex was gorgeous! Surrounded by the rolling hills of the South Downs national park, as a location, you don’t get much better than this! From the elegant ceremony to the all-out party in the evening, this was a great day! Check it all out below.

First names: Grace and Dan
Ages: Grace 30, Dan 38
Wedding date: Sunday 18th September
Venue: Long Furlong Barn

How did you guys meet, tell me all?

We both met at a friend’s wedding… at Long Furlong Barn! My Mum actually spotted Dan to begin with and nudged me and said “Look… he looks like Olly Murs!”. Few hours and glasses of wine later, Dan danced over to me on the dance floor and introduced himself!

How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?

Dan took me to Rome for my birthday and proposed on Palatine Hill (near the Colosseum). He was too nervous to do it infront of a crowd so took me to a random bush and got down on one knee LOL, it was very sweet and I had no idea.  However, he took me to a stray Cat sanctuary before where I got to fuss over loads of cats….. I think he should have proposed there as I was in heaven.

What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many?

Nope- We only looked at Long Furlong Barn as it’s where we met. Didn’t want to see any other venues!

Tell me about your dress? Who was it designed by and was there a particular style you were drawn to?

Oh god….. So I had no idea what I wanted. Thought I wanted a tight-fitting dress but ended up having the opposite! I tried it on and just knew it was perfect.

What was the inspiration/theme/styling of your wedding?

Both just wanted a relaxed/ rustic theme with some lovely flowers. Dan’s nan loved flowers and I think she would have loved to see them all.

What is your first song and why?

Sigala, Ella Eyre – Came Here for Love (Acoustic).

What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?

Be organized! We have found it very chilled as had enough time to plan and think about it. Don’t rush it either, make sure it’s what you want. Dan’s answer is, Listen to your Wife as she knows best!
