Wedding at Belair House and The Lordship Pub // Jennie and John

Wedding at Belair House and The Lordship PubJennie and John’s south London wedding at Belair House and The Lordship Pub in Dulwich, was very cool indeed. Elegant, relaxed and one helluva party! From the beautiful ceremony at Belair House, to the stylish and welcoming south London pub, this was such a great day.

First names: Jennie & John
Ages: 32 & 32 (we were born on the same day!)
Wedding date: Friday 28th April
Venue: Belair House and then The Lordship Pub, Dulwich

How did you guys meet, tell me all? We met at school when we were 15 and were friends for years – even moving to London as flatmates just after university. We eventually got together 5 years later – John got drunk on gin and blurted out his true feelings – we took it on from there and are now here!

How did you get engaged, is there a cool story? We went to The Sportsman in Whitstable in September last year. We love Whitstable and have been every year since we’ve been a couple. The evening at The Sportsman was billed as a birthday surprise for Jen and at the end of the evening John produced a ring and asked her to marry him

What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many? We wanted the venue to be in a location that meant something to us. Last year we bought our first home in Crystal Palace – we’ve fallen in love with Crystal Palace and the surrounding areas. Belair House was perfect.

What was the inspiration/theme of your wedding? We’re anti theme really. All that was important was getting everyone together who is important and special to us for a good time and a helluva party!

What is your first song and why? The Zombies ‘Can’t Nobody Love You’ Jen heard the track from an episode of the series ‘Girls’ a few years back – on a car journey soon after we were engaged Jen put the track and driving along and listening to the lyrics we knew it matched how we felt about one another.

What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding? Give yourself time. You will change your mind as the wedding planning progresses. Keep cool and don’t book/order things right away – usually your original plans will change!
