The Dreys Woodland Wedding // Vic and Hollie

The Dreys woodland wedding with Vic and Hollie was rustic, relaxed and fun. Tug of war, beer pong and some funky dancing helped create such an amazing day for these guys and it was a real pleasure to be a part of their day. Check it all out below.

First names: Hollie and Vic
Ages: 30 and 31
Wedding date: 31.8.19
Venue: The Dreys, Kent

How did you guys meet, tell me all?
We met when we were studying together for our Speech Therapy masters at Essex University

How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?
We were having a weekend away in Brighton for Hollie’s Birthday (or so she thought…) It was a beautiful sunny weekend in October and we stayed at the Artists Residence. Vic had secretly handmade a ring for Hollie at the Quarter Workshop in Birmingham (https://thequarterworkshop.com/) and when we arrived in our room there was a little booklet with photos of the ring being made. Eventually, Hollie realised what was going on, and Vic remembered to get the actual ring out of her socks where it was hidden!

This month Hollie surprised Vic with a weekend away (https://www.milsomhotels.com/milsoms/) and a ring from ethical jewellery brand Kind (https://www.kindjewellery.com/) and asked her back!

What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many?
We decided to look at 2 venues and said that if neither jumped out at us we would go abroad and have a small wedding. When we saw the Dreys we couldn’t imagine a more perfect setting!

What was the inspiration/theme of your wedding?
We wanted to keep everything low key and relaxed, and not get too caught up in all the little details! We are most looking forward to different friends and family getting together and having a party with good food, great music and terrible dancing!

What is your first song and why? The band are performing the Jackie Wilson song (Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher. We have seen one of our favourite singers Ezra Furman do an awesome cover of the song, and we wanted something fun and upbeat with a great message

What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?
Don’t sweat the small stuff, and remember what it’s really all about!

Hollie’s Mum and Dad helped with all of the signs and confetti. Our MC and best friend Hayley was in charge of the favours. We were lucky enough that lots of our friends and family are talented and creative and kind enough to spend their time helping to make the day special!
