How did you guys meet, tell me all?
We first met when we were 15/16 at school, but didn’t get together until we were 20. We arranged a ‘catch up’ one Christmas break from uni which was meant to be a casual drink (Dan had actually booked a table at Pizza Express), and we have never looked back since.
How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?
Dan proposed on our 7th anniversary on a day trip to London. He jokes he now doesn’t have to remember two dates! We planned to spend the day visiting the Tate Modern, have a nice dinner and then go to a cool bar that Dan had seen. Dan wanted to get to the bar around 5:30 which I thought was very early and tried delaying by having a leisurely dinner. Little did I know, Dan had actually reserved a table which had an hours’ time limit! Luckily we got there with half and hour to spare…
What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many?
We looked at three venues with The Gardens being the last – once we visited this venue we knew it was the ‘one’. We loved how it was different to other venues as it had the combination of tipis and a barn style.
What was the inspiration/theme of your wedding?
We don’t have a theme as such, but we wanted to keep the wedding feeling quite relaxed and not to over done. We chose to have a mixture of formal looking flowers mixed with bright wild flowers as it fits nicely with the style of the tipis.
What is your first song and why?
We struggled choosing a song as you can over think the words. We have chosen ‘How deep is your love’ by PJ Morton as it is a great version of a classic with a modern twist.
What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?
Try to keep on top of all the arrangements which can be done in advance – you don’t want the panic 4-5 weeks before the big day when there is lots to do on top of the final decoration arrangements which are typically done in the final few weeks. Just try to relax and enjoy every step as you shall only do it once!
