Sarah and Chris’s stunning wedding at Port Lympne was beautiful, elegant, and incredibly fun, which included an AMAZING Safari halfway through the day. Shortly after the wedding breakfast, we had the pleasure of visiting the Giraffes, Rhinos and Zebra. Sarah and Chris’s wedding was just incredible and will live long in memory. How did you guys meet, tell me all?
We met at Leeds University at a sports social event, Chris played in the American Football team and Sarah was a Cheerleader – very American romcom vibes!
How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?
In 2019, we packed up and left to go traveling around New Zealand, Australia and South East Asia. Chris proposed in the first week whilst we were in we were out there at the most northern tip of New Zealand under the lighthouse – it was gorgeous!
What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many?
We didn’t look at any! We planned our whole wedding whilst living in a campervan driving around New Zealand. Before traveling, we visited Port Lympne and it was set up for a wedding, and so Sarah always thought it would be a cool place to get married. When we got engaged, Sarah asked Chris where he would want to get married and Chris said Port Lympne and so that was it!
Tell me about your dress? Who was it designed by and was there a particular style you were drawn too?
Enzoani – Magnolia
Everyone says that you should try on loads of different style dresses (which I did and it was fun!) but I knew I wanted a style which was more figure hugging to suit my shape. I also always wanted a dress with a lot of floral embellishment to fit the theme of the whole day.
What was the inspiration/theme/styling of your wedding?
Wild and green! Chris is obsessed with plants (our house is full of them) and so we really wanted to have a green theme in terms of the suits, bridesmaids dresses, and a lot of foliage decor! We also love animals (our first date was at London Zoo) and the venue obviously lends itself to the wild animal theme!
What is your first song and why?
Phil Collins – You’ll Be in my Heart
We love Disney and the song is a banger (in our opinion!)
What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?
The last few months go so quickly so try and remember to enjoy it whilst rushing around! Also, excel spreadsheets will be your best friend!
