This South Farm wedding was held on a very unusual day, a Monday! Normally a day for the returning to work blues, so it has to be said, this was and is the perfect antidote to any Monday! These guys certainly knew how to have fun and South Farm was the perfect, picturesque location for just that. Check out Emma and Sam’s amazing wedding below.
First names: Emma Falkous & Sam Green
Ages: 33 and 28
Wedding date: 18/09/17
Venue: South Farm, Royston, Hertfordshire
How did you guys meet, tell me all? At Global Gathering Festival, My sister starting chatting to one of his mates and Sam came over to be ‘wing man’ when Rudimental was playing. Until the music stopped I had no idea he was southerner and he didn’t know I was northern, we mocked each other a lot for that and we spent the rest of the weekend dancing and drinking together!
How did you get engaged, is there a cool story? He proposed on Christmas Morning, he hid clues around our house and the final clue (I had my back to him because of where I found it) was to turn around and see him kneeling on the ground (swoon). We then went to his parents where they had champagne waiting for us, good job I said yes or that would have been a very awkward Christmas! Ha!
What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many? I didn’t think I would like the venue, I wanted to get married in Yorkshire as it was mid way between our families. We went to see the venue when we were both hungover after celebrating our engagement with my parents, the minute we got there we feel in love with how beautiful, effortless and relaxed it was. The whole place and the staff just instantly put you at ease and it just feels like you are at home.
What was the inspiration/theme of your wedding? There wasn’t one really, I love colour and Sam is the most laid back groom ever, his only request was a hog roast! I just wanted everyone to feel relaxed and be happy so I hope that comes through on the day.
What is your first song and why? It’s a mix, Ed Sheeran ‘Thinking out Loud’ Sam said it reminded him of me and we danced to it in my living room, then it goes to Wilkinson ‘Dirty Love’ because that is one of our favourite DJs and we bonded over our love of raving and dancing and it just wouldnt be us unless there was some DnB in there!
What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding? Just relax and enjoy it, make a decision and then forget about it, don’t keep looking at other options. Ask no one other than your partner, of their opinion, it’s about the 2 of you so just go with your gut.
