Rustic Winters Barns wedding // Sarah and Robbie

Rustic Winters Barns weddingSarah and Robbie’s rustic Winters Barns wedding in Canterbury was elegant and fun. These guys just didn’t stop smiling throughout. Check out their beautiful September wedding below.

First names: Robbie and Sarah
Ages: 28 and 27
Wedding date: 28/09/2018
Venue: Winters Barns, Canterbury

How did you guys meet, tell me all?
We worked together for 4 years across 3 different companies, and then finally got together in 2013. We were just friends before (honestly!) but 2013 was the first time that we were both single. It’s been a whirlwind ever since!

How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?
We went to Austrailia & Bali in March 2017. Everyone expected “the proposal” while we were in Bali, but Robbie doesn’t like to conform! The night before we went, Sarah came home to a candlelit flat, champagne, and him down on one knee. Very romantic.

What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many?
We looked at 4 venues, but Winters Barns we fell in love with as soon as we saw it. There was no competition in our eyes. We wanted something small and intimate, yet beautiful and it ticked all of the boxes!

What was the inspiration/theme of your wedding?
We wanted to keep the wedding simple and rustic. The barns are just perfect as they are, so we didn’t feel to add too much to it (apart from sunflowers!).
What is your first song and why? Sam Smith – How will I know. Sarah cried the first time she heard it, and our love for Sam Smith and his music sealed the deal.

What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?
Be organised! Spreadsheets are a life-saver to keep all suppliers in one place. Book your main suppliers in plenty of time to ensure you get the people you want to make your day as perfect as you imagine.
