Laura and Ben’s rustic Ruffynes Barn wedding, was relaxed, fun and super gorgeous. Starting off at a very beautiful Church in Charing, we were then whisked off to the stunning Ruffynes Barn in Kent. Set in the middle of the countryside, down a long and narrow country road, this old Oast House & Barn helped give these guys an amazing wedding! Check out their amazing day below.
First names: Laura & Ben
Ages: 28 & 31
Wedding date: 16th September 2017
Venue(s): St Peter and St Paul Church, Charing & Ruffynes Barn, Aldington, Kent
How did you guys meet, tell me all?
It all began on a drunken, unromantic university night out. Laura was pushing her friend up a hill in a shopping trolley and making a LOT of noise. Ben and his friends thought they would see what all the fuss was about, and over a plate of under cooked frozen fishcakes and chips love blossomed!
How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?
Ben popped the question after 8 years together on a casual evening picnic in the Olympic Park. It took Ben a while to find the perfect moment but it made our holiday to Peru the week after even more special!
What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many?
We wanted a relaxed country wedding and as we had spent many summers in Kent because Ben is from the area, it felt like a perfect choice. We looked at several venues in Kent but the beautiful fairy lights in Ruffynes Barn instantly won Laura over!
What was the inspiration/theme of your wedding?
We went for a botanical theme to be in keeping with the barn and surrounding countryside, with some modern touches. Ben’s theme was unlimited alcohol, stocking the bar with his favourite craft beers
What is your first song and why?
Tom Odell, Grow Old with me…the name of the song and lyrics say it all <3
What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?
Research your budget before setting it and then stick to it!
