Anna and Gary’s Preston Court wedding was very wet! I would go as far as saying it was probably the wettest wedding I’ve photographed. However, the pouring rain didn’t spoil what ended up to be such a fantastic wedding day for this lovely couple! Preston Court is one very cool venue to get married! The main barn is home to two impressive Dutch dance hall organs. These fill each end of the barn and make a fabulous vintage backdrop. Old steam engines are dotted around the barns and a magnificent old victorian carousel sits pride of place outside.

How did you guys meet, tell me all?
We met through mutual friends, and had our first date at Canary Wharf in London… Going for a few drinks turned into being asked to drink up and leave as the bar was past closing. We had talked non stop and hadn’t realised we were into the early hours!

How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?
I chose the ring and sneaked it over to Turkey! After dinner by the sea, I suggested we took a lantern to the little hut on the beach, with some drinks and cushions… Asked Anna to close her eyes, and when she opened them I was on one knee… Anna thought however that I was just kneeling on the floor randomly!

What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many?
Anna had seen the venue on T.V and been inspired… when we visited Preston we knew within minutes!

What was the inspiration/theme of your wedding?
Inspired by a love for the Kent countryside, with a mix of Moroccan, English and Irish influences!

What is your first song and why?
The song is ‘I wasn’t expecting that’ by Jaime Lawson. We played this song a lot on our Turkey holiday and it reminded us both of our own situations.

What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?
Don’t panic, have fun, and make the day the way you want it!
