How did you guys meet, tell me all?

I was living in Newcastle whilst studying there. Dawn came up one weekend to visit an old flame who was in my class. We all ended up going for a night out together and after finding out that dawn was from near where I lived back home in Kent we got chatting. I pulled out all of my best lines but to no avail. Nothing happened that weekend and Dawn left for home. Being a competitive person, I did not give up, and by the power of social media, I managed to stalk Dawn. We finally met up for a date when I was back home and we hit it off from there.

How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?

We were on holiday in Mexico and I had been carrying the ring waiting for the perfect opportunity to pop the question. I had nothing planned and wanted it to be as natural as possible. Finally, one evening we were walking along the beach after dinner and we stopped to have a sit in a hammock. I got up, leaving Dawn in the hammock, and pretended I wanted to take a picture. So I got my camera out and knelt down on one knee. Out came the ring and Dawn’s reaction was priceless. She burst out laughing and shouted ‘About bloody time!’.

What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many?

Port Lympne was only the second venue we looked at. We fell in love with the location and the venue straight away. There was no contest.

What was the inspiration/theme of your wedding?

‘A day of two halves’. The ceremony is silvery grey and natural and the reception is bright and multicoloured.

What is your first song and why?

Perfect, by Ed Sheeran, because it is perfect and sums up our relationship.

What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?

Let the bloke do it. Job done.
