Odo’s Barn Wedding // Kirsten and Dan

Kirsten and Dan’s Odo’s Barn wedding was just INCREDIBLE! Absolutely amazing! It was a day that seemed to grow and grow in atmosphere and by the end, you couldn’t move for people dancing! Both Kirsten and Dan are two awesome people and it was such a joy to capture their day. Check it all out below.

First names: Dan and Kirsten
Ages: 32 & 28
Wedding date: 11/09/2021
Venue: Odo’s Barn, Bilsington

How did you guys meet, tell me all?
We met by chance in a bar whilst Kirsten was at University. It wasn’t particularly romantic as we were both looking after our drunken friends but it ended up being the place that we always used to go back to for a good night out in Canterbury!

How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?
We were on holiday in Toronto (our favourite place) and took a boat trip to the little island across Lake Ontario. We’d been there a few years before and found an amazing spot that overlooks the city. Dan made me turn around and look across the lake so he could take a photo and when I turned around to see what was taking him so long, he was standing with the ring in his hand. I was honestly so surprised that my response was very unromantic – something along the lines of “f*ck off, are you joking?”

What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many?
We only looked at one other venue, before we found Odo’s Barn but as soon as we walked in we were blown away! Also, the owners (Robert and Charlotte) were a major reason for booking the barn. You can tell that they love what they do and have been so helpful throughout the process and made things so much easier – even when we had to reschedule due to the pandemic!

What was the inspiration/theme of your wedding?
We have always loved the idea of a rustic barn wedding, full of flowers and fairy lights… but mostly we just wanted it to be super relaxed and for everyone to have an amazing party!

What is your first song and why?
James Morrison – I Won’t Let You Go… because it’s a belter to sing along to in the car and hits you right in the feels!

What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?
Don’t sweat the small stuff! Everyone will have different opinions but it’s your day and it’ll be amazing regardless.
