Emma and Gareth’s Mountains Country House wedding was a very relaxed, chilled, week day wedding, surrounded by family and friends. With a few ‘little ones’ also taking centre stage, this wedding gave off a very close family vibe. Both Emma and Gareth are such a wonderful couple and I wish them both well for the future. Check out their beautiful day below.
First names: Emma and Gareth
Ages: 29 and 31
Wedding date: 30th May 2017
Venue: Mountains Country House, Hildenborough, Kent
How did you guys meet, tell me all?
We’ve known each other for nearly 10 years, after meeting at work. However we didn’t really get to know each other until 2 years later, following playing quite a few pranks on each other which involved him shrink wrapping my car and me covering his van in stickers! Soon after we officially got together and then 8 years on we are finally getting married.
How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?
A sunny Friday evening after a long day at work we had a BBQ in the garden at home with a bottle of wine just the two of us and Gaz got down on one knee! It was perfect… and so was the ring! It also happened to be on my parent’s 33rd wedding anniversary, so this is a special day in our family.
What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many?
This was the only venue we viewed, after hours and hours of internet research! We knew we wanted something a bit different but wasn’t sure what, until we found Mountains; it’s a private school in such a beautiful setting! As soon as we saw it we knew it was the one and booked it soon after!
What was the inspiration/theme of your wedding?
We really wanted traditional but with a modern twist, most of our decorations were fresh flowers which fits in perfectly in the venue, alongside the string quartet which created a great atmosphere. We used our engagement photos for our table names, our guest book and table plan to make it more personal.
What is your first song and why?
We never really had a ‘song’, so after listening to quite a few options, we settled on Ellie Goulding – How long will I love you, as one of the only songs we could agree on!
What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?
Get organized early and don’t leave too much to the last minute to avoid disappointment! For me booking the photographer was one of the first things I did! Also don’t be afraid to ask for help from family and friends when you need it, my mum made my cake, and my sister made the favours, and they loved getting involved in the day.
