Amy and Adam’s Lympne Castle wedding was truly awesome. With stunning views overlooking Romney Marsh and onwards out to sea, Lympne Castle helped give this very cool couple a wedding to remember!
This medieval castle located just above Romney Marsh, with it’s Roman background also carries some music nostalgia. Did you know in September 1978, Paul McCartney’s Wings recorded sessions at the Lympne Castle for their 1979 album Back to the Egg? Seems a fitting venue for a very cool couple indeed, who were married surrounded by their closest family and friends. Some of which were certainly a lot of fun to be around! First names: Amy & Adam
Ages: 38 & 33
Wedding date: 24th August 2017
Venue: Lympne Castle
How did you guys meet, tell me all? We met firstly in 2003, when Adam’s sister Victoria shared a house for nurses and doctors with me in Isleworth. Both myself and Victoria became good friends! Adam was only 18 at that time and it was not until 2012, for Adam’s sisters wedding in Australia, we met again and it was an instant connection! It felt like they had known each other for years and there was a bond between us instantly! A holiday romance started but we both knew it was never going to be just that.
How did you get engaged, is there a cool story? Adam kept it secret, I had no idea. We were in Lancashire at his parents’ house and went for a country walk in Tokholes… I had a go at him for rushing and not enjoying the beautiful scenery (he always rushes) but I had no idea he was nervously trying to find a suitable place to propose. I couldn’t believe it when he popped the question! There were tears!
What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many? Not that many, it was the beautiful view and garden – we just fell in love with the place.
What was the inspiration/theme of your wedding? A mix of countryside, rustic, cool-glamour, garden-party, summer celebration if that makes sense!
What is your first song and why? When Adam and I met again in 2012 we both knew within minutes we had found soulmates. I just wanted to be by his side, I had known him forever. A lot of the songs we liked had too much swearing and were totally inappropriate, so we just went with a romantic old classic that our amazing band suggested called Earth Angel, originally by The Penguins! (Ross’ edit – Plus one of the most famous songs in the Back to the Future trilogy!)
What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding? Start early. Just do it in stages, bit by bit. Don’t go with what you should do, just go with what is really YOU as a couple!
