Hot and sunny wedding at Buxted Park Hotel // Katie and Chris

Katie and Chris’ hot and sunny wedding at Buxted Park Hotel, was romantic, elegant and fun. With temperatures in their mid 30’s, these guys enjoyed and very pretty and timeless wedding day. Even if we did all melt a little under the heat waves. It was truly an honour to get to know these guys and a pleasure to document their day. Check out their amazing day below!

First names: Chris & Katie
Ages: Chris 39 & Katie 28
Wedding date: 29th June 2019
Venue: Buxted Park Hotel, East Sussex.

How did you guys meet, tell me all?
We met through work. I have worked with my company for 10 years, Chris is a carpenter & was doing some building works at our company (he is my boss’s best friend!). We met years ago & would always chat & have a laugh. About 4-5 years after meeting we were both available & decided to go on a date & as they say the rest is history!

How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?
Yes! I went on a work trip to New York & Chris managed to bag himself an invite too, little did I know it was his plan all along! I had a few days work & then my Boss & his wife went home & that night Chris took me on a romantic boat trip – it was amazing! We then went out on the back of the boat just outside the statue of liberty & he got down on one knee & proposed!

What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many?
We just fell in love with it as soon as we were there, we didn’t look at many others. We just loved the look & feel of Buxted Park.

What was the inspiration/theme of your wedding?
Romantic, classic wedding theme.

What is your first song and why?
Lionel Richie, Truly. We used to listen to this all the time prior to being engaged & both love the song.

What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?
Enjoy it, its stressful & sometimes awkward but try to enjoy it as it does go by so quickly!
