How did you guys meet, tell me all?
Met on Tinder, after we’d both first moved to London back in 2014. Found out that we’d both grown up near Maidstone in Kent, had a couple of mutual friends in common, but didn’t know each other. Have now been together for just over 6.5 years.
How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?
A surprise birthday trip to Iceland, luckily just a couple of months before Covid struck – Olly proposed to Emma by the Gulfoss waterfalls after a slightly snowier-than-expected weekend.
What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many?
We were both raised in Kent and always wanted a wedding somewhere in the countryside – Hayne House looked beautiful online from the pictures…but even better in person on a stormy February morning! We looked at a few, but it was always our number 1.
What was the inspiration/theme of your wedding?
Relaxed and fun – everyone needs a good celebration after the past couple of years!
What is your first song and why?
Jessie Ware – ‘Til the end
We’ve seen her live together in Birmingham and her songs mean a lot to us.
What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?
It’s easy to get overwhelmed in the beginning, but just break it down into chunks and tackle them one by one – you’ve got more time than you think you have! The most important thing is that the two of you are happy and have the wedding that you want.
d don’t second guess things; once you have made a decision stick with it, otherwise you will be back and forth numerous times!
