Emma and Patrick’s wedding was a stunning, sunshine filled March wedding in the gorgeous countryside. From an elegant ceremony, to all out party, this was an amazing wedding. Check out this Friern Manor Wedding in Essex below.
First names: Emma & Patrick
Ages: 31 & 32
Wedding date: 29th March 2019
Venue: Friern Manor, Brentwood, Essex
How did you guys meet, tell me all?
We met at work. Initially, Emma didn’t particularly like me! Once she realised I wasn’t all bad, we were friends for about 2 years before we got together. Then one drunken night in the city, we were the last two left in the bar and I asked if she fancied another drink… and that was the start of a blossoming relationship!
How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?
After about 2 years of being together, we were going away to quite a few ‘romantic’ destinations like Rome, Sorrento, New York and everyone would ask Emma if she thought this was the trip I was going to propose. I had the ring for quite a while but wanted it to be a real surprise so decided that I would do it on a trip to Manchester. We went out for a lovely meal at James Martin’s restaurant (being big Saturday Morning Kitchen fans!) and when we got back to the hotel room, a bunch of flowers and bottle of champagne were waiting. Emma still had no clue until I started fumbling around in my holdall trying to find the ring!
What made us choose your wedding venue, did you look at many?
We looked at about 7 or 8 different venues, mainly in Essex and a couple in London. We saw Friern Manor last of all and could tell it was the one. They’ve been fantastic throughout the whole process.
What was the inspiration/theme of your wedding?
We haven’t got a theme as such, but we decided to donate money to charity instead of wedding favours. Both of our families have been affected by dementia and Alzheimer’s so that felt like something we should do.
What is your first song and why?
At Last by Etta James. It makes a bit of change from the recent Ed Sheeran craze and the lyrics in At Last really struck a chord with us.
What would be your number one tip for other couples planning their wedding?
To remember that it’s your big day. Try not to argue with each other and really enjoy the process together.
