This beautiful and relaxed Fitzleroi Barn wedding, set in the stunning West Sussex countryside was everything Carly and Chris could have wished for. With lockdown easing and weddings less restricted, this wonderful couple had the wedding they had hoped for. It was an honour to be part of their day. Check it all out below.
First names: Carly & Chris
Ages: 27 & 28
Wedding date: 30th May 2021
Venue: Fitzleroi Barn
How did you guys meet, tell me all? We both worked at the same place but in different departments, and Carly had just started so we hadn’t really spoken before. The company threw a cowboy themed summer party where Chris hilariously split his trousers open on the rodeo bull. We just hit it off from there really and were basically inseparable since.
How did you get engaged, is there a cool story? We were away in Sorrento, Italy and Chris proposed on a terrace as the sunset. He read a lovely poem and our friends were with us (who had known all along) and popped some champagne to celebrate.
What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many? We knew we wanted to go for a barn or something similar. We had looked at a couple of other barns, but didn’t really like how they’d been renovated and modernised so much that the cosy, rustic charm seemed to be missing. Chris is a Chef and had done some private work a Fitzelroi Barn before and suggested going to check it out. When we went to see it together we both fell in love.
What was the inspiration/theme of your wedding? No real theme, we just wanted it to be intimate and relaxed with lots of fairy lights.
What is your first song and why? This literally took us forever to decide. We just wanted something soulful that wasn’t too fast or too slow. After going back and forth a few times we eventually decided on ‘Let’s Stay Together’ by Al Green.
What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding? Just try to enjoy it as much as possible. Although this is much easier said than done! And book as far in advance as you can, especially for the big suppliers like caterers, photographer etc…
