Hayley and Sam were married at the beautiful Firle Place in East Sussex, surrounded by family, friends and the soft summer light that the South Downs are known for. Their wedding felt relaxed and joyful from the very beginning, with an atmosphere that balanced elegance with genuine, unforced moments.
Firle Place provided a timeless backdrop for their day. The historic house, manicured gardens and calm rhythm of the estate created space for the wedding to unfold naturally, without anything feeling rushed or overproduced.
Elegant details and considered design
From the ceremony setting through to the evening celebrations, every detail felt thoughtfully chosen. Hayley’s look evolved effortlessly across the day, moving from a classic bridal silhouette into a playful party dress that set the tone for the evening.
The styling complemented the venue beautifully. Soft florals, warm tones and understated table design allowed Firle Place itself to remain central, enhancing the sense of place rather than competing with it.
A relaxed celebration at Firle Place
Rather than filling the day with constant structure, Hayley and Sam allowed moments to breathe. Conversations, laughter and spontaneous energy carried through from the afternoon into the evening, creating photographs that feel honest and full of life.
The dinner setup inside the venue was a highlight. Long tables, soft lighting and the architectural character of Firle Place came together to create a warm, inviting atmosphere as guests settled in for the evening.
Photographing weddings with intention
Weddings like this are a reminder that luxury doesn’t need to feel formal or staged. When the setting, the people and the pace align, the result feels effortless and timeless.
Firle Place is a venue that lends itself naturally to this approach, offering beauty, history and space in equal measure. It was a pleasure to photograph Hayley and Sam’s wedding here.
