February wedding at Highfield Park in Hampshire

February wedding at Highfield Park in Hampshire // Jessica and Gethyn

This February wedding at Highfield Park in Hampshire with Jess and Gethyn was just gorgeous. Set within 35 acres of beautiful parkland and with a natural and wintery twist, this wedding was everything the couple could have wished for.

Being that this wedding was my first of the 2019 season, it was a fantastic way to kick off the year. Especially as Jess and Gethyn are two of the nicest people you’re ever likely to meet. Check out their amazing wedding day below.

First names: Jessica Holmes & Gethyn Howells
Ages: 28 &31
Wedding date: 17/02/19
Venue: Highfield Park, Hampshire

How did you guys meet, tell me all?

We’ve had many sliding doors moments in the past.. Where we’ve worked in the same building, but never actually met! We eventually crossed paths on the Mary Poppins UK Tour, which meant the first couple of years of our relationship was spread across different cities in the UK and abroad. But it means we’ve had loads of adventures, and can now just enjoy being at home, together.

How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?

We were holidaying in Ko Yao Yai, a Thai Island in April 2017. Gethyn didn’t want the stress of getting through airport security again, so popped the question on our last night, before we carried on travelling to New Zealand.

What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many?

We looked at 3 or 4 venues… But the team at Highfield Park were very accommodating, and the venue is beautiful. It also met our requirements with having bedrooms for everybody on site!

What was the inspiration/theme of your wedding?

We wanted to keep it natural, with a wintery twist.

What is your first song and why?

James Arthur – Say you won’t let go. It used to come on a lot whilst we were on long drives, and the words just fit.

What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?

Stay calm! And if you can, give yourself time to plan, so that you 1) don’t stress out, and 2) get your first pick of suppliers etc.
