Victoria and Michael’s Chilham Village Hall wedding was alternative, fun and different. This DIY wedding had a distinctive movie theme throughout, including elements from Back to the Future, Jurassic Park and many more. It even featured a Piñata to hit! The day closed out and the party started with none other than Marty McFly’s version of Johnny B Good to the crowd. Check out their amazing day below.
First names: Victoria & Michael
Ages: 29 & 31
Wedding date: 01/09/2018
Venue: Chilham Village Hall, Chilham, Canterbury.
How did you guys meet, tell me all?
We met online, way back when it was all about MySpace. After bonding over being heartbroken we became friends and soon began dating.
How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?
We went away for Viki’s birthday to Hever Castle. After the lights went down we took our torches and look around the site after dark and Mike got down on one knee and popped the question.
What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many?
We wanted somewhere that we could get married in and have our reception in, as both of our families live further away. We also wanted somewhere that we could make our own.
What was the inspiration/theme of your wedding?
Our theme is ‘films’ as throughout our lives many films have provided cherished memories, when we first met we went to the cinema and since then we have seen several movies together. We’ve tied it in by having film-themes tables, spray-painted VHS’s, the Wedding ‘Breakfast Club’ and film themes in our chosen music.
What is your first song and why?
You’ve got a friend in me, because Toy Story is awesome.
What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?
Don’t stress the small stuff!
