Grace and Tom had such an amazing Botley Hill Barn wedding! This very modern and contemporary barn located in the picturesque Surrey countryside provided the perfect day for Grace and Tom. How did you guys meet, tell me all?
Hinge, the dating app.
How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?
We went back to the bar where we had our first date at Mercato Metropolitano. We had made it a tradition to go there every year on our anniversary for drinks, so it only seemed right to pop the question there too on our third anniversary!
What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many?
Botley was the first venue we saw and we fell in love with it. We wanted something a bit different and Botley was exactly that. We looked at others afterwards but our hearts had been set on Botley!
Tell me about your dress? Who was it designed by and was there a particular style you were drawn too?
My dress is the complete opposite of what I thought I originally wanted. I tried on lots of dresses from different shops and designers, but as soon as I put this one on (originally just to please my mum as it was her choice!) I knew it was the one. It felt so lovely on, and the tears from mum when she saw me in it also helped solidify that it was the dress for me.
What was the inspiration/theme/styling of your wedding?
Botley has a certain rustic charm to it which we wanted to play up. We’ve tried to keep things pretty minimal and let the beauty of the venue do its thing!
What is your first song and why?
Ed Sheeran – Hearts Don’t Break Around Here. For one, the underlying message is all about a strong, everlasting love. It also talks about daisies, which Tom especially likes because Grace’s middle name is Daisy and that’s what he calls her.
What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?
Don’t fret over the small details. Most people won’t care about the colour of the flowers or the font used in the signage.
