First names: Emily and Ivan
Ages: 31 & 28
Wedding date: 19/08/2023
Venue: Tadwell Farm

How did you guys meet, tell me all?

The summer of 2010 I was helping my mums friend look after her horse, who was kept on Tadwell Farm, Ivans family home. One day we were in the farm yard and mums friend said ‘that ones nice’. I asked for his name and found him on Facebook! From there we spoke on MSN. We met up on 11th August and made it official 8th September. The rest is history!

How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?

We went away for a week skiing after Christmas to Austria with friends. Ivan proposed on New Year’s Day, 1st Jan 2023 on top of the mountain!

What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many?

Always wanted to have our wedding at home on the farm as we knew we could be more flexible with our decisions and the tractors and horses could be involved too.

Tell me about your dress? Who was it designed by and was there a particular style you were drawn too?

I have always loved the BOHO style dresses with the lace and that’s what I always knew I would go for. I also said I would want sleeves. I found my dress online at Grace Loves Lace, I booked an appointment and ending up choosing the dress I loved online. It was the only dress shop I went to. The dress was made in Australia and shipped to me about 6 weeks before the wedding.

What was the inspiration/theme/styling of your wedding?

BOHO, rustic theme. I love pampas and eucalyptus so I knew I wanted lots of that. I love all the neutral colours.

What is your first song and why?

High by Lighthouse Family. Just because it has always been our favourite song so that’s why we chose this.

What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?

Communicate with each other. It’s so stressful but worth it!
