Holly and Ross’ Autumnal Ruffynes Barn wedding, was just perfect. With the COVID-19 pandemic still in full swing and wedding numbers officially under 15, lots of couples are choosing to postpone their big day.
Not Holly and Ross, however, and it proved to be a fantastic decision. This intimate wedding was just stunning, set in the Kent countryside, with Holly & Ross surrounded by their closest family and friends. There really is something special about these smaller, more personal weddings that i’m a huge fan of.
Both Holly and Ross are such a wonderful couple, and it was such an honor and pleasure to capture their day. Check it all out here.
First names: Holly and Ross
Ages: 34 and 31
Wedding date: 03.10.20………………………………………… and then 16.10.21!
Venue: Ruffynes Barn, Aldington
How did you guys meet, tell me all?
A Tinder success story (there’s more out there than we give it credit for!) we went for dinks at a quirky cocktail bar for our first date and never looked back.
How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?
We were on holiday in Seville. Ross had done his research into some of the beautiful places he would like to propose. The first place we got to was very busy with other tourists and so we moved on to the botanical gardens and got engaged in a quiet beautiful spot with just us and some ducks nearby.
What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many?
After narrowing down the local venues online that would let us have a DIY wedding Ruffynes Barn was the first and only one that we visited. The barn is stunning and can really be personalised. The team that run it have been wonderful, especially with all of the changes we have had to make during COVID.
What was the inspiration/theme of your wedding?
We originally just wanted to have all of our friends and family with us to celebrate, eat, drink and dance with us. As the number of guests has now been reduced we have decided to get married at the barn this year with our close family and wedding party and then will return around our anniversary next year to hopefully have the celebration we originally wanted.
What is your first song and why?
We won’t be revealing that just yet since we will be having our official next dance to kick off the party at our reception next year.
What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?
After planning a pandemic wedding we would probably advocate just going with the flow! If things need to adapt it won’t change the fact that you are marrying your favourite person!
