I simply love London. So when Gemma and Jason agreed upon an autumnal London pre-wedding shoot, I couldn’t say yes quick enough. From the London Eye, to the West End. We certainly had some fun!
There is an old romantic saying “Meet me under the clock at Waterloo station” and as I awaited the arrival of Gemma and Jason, the clock struck 11am. It filled me with pure happiness to see so many other people greeting each other under the very same clock.
It’s a clock that has probably seen some beautiful moments! It has overlooked long lost family members, first dates and today a couple about to embark on a journey from their engagement shoot to their wedding day. Thoughts of nostalgia, black and white movies, old steam trains and alike. Lost in my own thoughts, I suddenly saw Gemma approaching, time for the shoot.
Gemma and Jason first met me close to a year ago, when we hooked up for coffee. So it was also a little odd to think that exactly a year after this shoot, will be their wedding day. Funny how things work out.
I knew from the moment I first met this lovely couple, they would be easy to photograph. They are both just full of happiness and were a real joy to be around.
We took in the sights and sounds of London, from the London Eye to the West End. We experienced the south bank, had a quick spin through the old book market, mooched over Waterloo Bridge and ended with a glance around Covent garden. A great way to spend an hour or so.
It was cool to hear how the plans are progressing for Gemma and Jason’s big day and I really can’t wait to photograph it.
