As a London wedding photographer, this Asylum Chapel Wedding with Hattie and Sanny was just so much fun! From the extremely cool chapel in Peckham to The Lordship Pub in Dulwich for the after-party, this was a wedding to remember. Check out highlights of this amazing day below.
First names: Hattie and Sanny
Ages: Hattie (34) Sanny (38)
Wedding date: Saturday 16 April 2022
Venue: Asylum Chapel in London and The Lordship Pub, East Dulwich.
How did you guys meet, tell me all? We met at work and never looked back.
How did you get engaged, is there a cool story? Sanny proposed when we were on holiday in Columbia. He wanted to propose in one of the cable cars that take you up to the top of Medellin, but other people kept getting in the pod we were in!! So he ended up proposing in a little village called Minca the night before we started a 5 day trek to The Lost City.
What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many? We always wanted to get married in London, it’s where we met, where we live, and we did look at quite a few venues! But when we saw the Asylum Chapel we just loved it. The Lordship was actually recommended by our friend Tom, and as soon as we visited and met Andrew we knew it would be perfect. It’s a lovely pub and they do a lot of weddings so know exactly what they’re doing, which made the planning process so much easier.
Tell me about your dress? Who was it designed by and was there a particular style you were drawn too? I wasn’t sure what I wanted. My wonderful friends Fran and Milly took me wedding dress shopping one evening central London, which was a lot of fun but I ended up getting my dress from BOA Boutique in Richmond. At the time I was doing a Masters at St Mary’s University and there was a huge bridal boutique in nearby Richmond. I thought it would be too fussy but I managed to find my dress on my first trip, thanks to Sheila at BOA Boutique.
What was the inspiration/theme/styling of your wedding? We wanted the reception to be relaxed so that’s why we chose a lovely pub for the meal and party.
What is your first song and why? ‘Maybe I’m Amazed’ by McCartney because it’s such an amazing track!
What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding? Liza at Asylum Chapel and Andrew at the Lordship have been amazing at helping us plan our wedding so think of the coordinator as an important part of choosing the venue!
