Aimee and Josh’s Hackney Town Hall wedding was a stylish and wonderfully relaxed day in East London. Their intimate wedding began with a morning ceremony at Hackney Town Hall, followed by confetti on the steps, portraits around Hackney and a reception at Brawn on Columbia Road.
With Aimée wearing Vivienne Westwood and Josh in a pale green double-breasted suit, the whole day had an effortless, modern London feel.
WEDDING CEREMONY AT HACKNEY TOWN HALL
Hackney Town Hall provided the perfect setting for Aimee and Josh’s intimate civil ceremony. After getting married surrounded by their closest family and friends, everyone gathered outside for confetti on the Town Hall steps.
Once their guests began making their way towards Columbia Road, we stayed around Hackney for a short couple shoot. Keeping everything relaxed and natural, we used the streets and simple urban backdrops around the Town Hall to create portraits before Aimee and Josh headed on to join everyone at Brawn.
BRAWN WEDDING RECEPTION ON COLUMBIA ROAD
The wedding continued at Brawn on Columbia Road, where long tables were filled with beautiful colourful flowers and guests gathered for lunch.
A live brass band was waiting on Columbia Road for Aimee and Josh’s arrival, playing a song chosen by the couple as they joined their guests. It was their own informal alternative to a traditional first dance and brought an incredible energy to the afternoon.
The relaxed restaurant setting, flowers, music and atmosphere of Columbia Road made Brawn a brilliant contrast to the elegance of their Hackney Town Hall ceremony.
EAST LONDON WEDDING INSPIRATION
From the Art Deco surroundings of Hackney Town Hall to the independent restaurants and streets around Columbia Road, Aimée and Josh’s wedding was a brilliant example of how stylish an intimate East London wedding can be.
