Rebecca and Robert’s intimate wedding at The Curious Eatery, after their beautiful ceremony at St Peter’s Church in Boughton Monchelsea was just stunning! With the sun shining, we were all treated to such a fantastic wedding day. Check it all out below.
First names: Rebecca and Robert (Becca and Rob)
Ages: 29 and 30
Wedding date: Wednesday 2nd June 2021
Venue: St. Peter’s Church, Boughton Monchelsea followed by The Curious Eatery
How did you guys meet, tell me all?
We met when we were both 17 back in the days of MSN. We had a mutual friend who introduced us and we started chatting over MSN. We then met (in person) for the first time at my 17th Birthday party.
How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?
After years of nagging on my part, Rob finally asked me to marry him in October 2018. This was the only day in our whole relationship that Rob was awake before me and offered to make me breakfast, so I knew something was going on! Rob had planned a romantic weekend in London but he didn’t want to wait until we arrived to ask me as he was too nervous, so he eventually asked me in our living room before we left to catch the train.
What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many?
We were originally supposed to get married last year but it was cancelled due to Covid. We had booked a larger venue, but as we are restricted to only 30 guests, we decided to book a smaller, more intimate venue. We have decided to get married in our local church, followed by excellent food, drinks and music at our local pub. We have, however, rebooked our larger reception for July 2023 so we can celebrate will all of our lovely friends and family.
What was the inspiration/theme of your wedding?
Our wedding is taking place in the small village where we live so we have tried to use small, local businesses and suppliers where we can. Our wedding has a spring/summer theme with lots of wildflowers.
What is your first song and why?
Iris by The Goo Goo Dolls. We have always loved this song!
What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?
Expect the unexpected!
