Venue: Cooling Castle Barn
How did you guys meet, tell me all?
We both worked at next, but on different departments so didn’t see each other that much. We went to the work Christmas party one year and ended up hitting it off and swapping numbers and then arranged a date and we’ve been together ever since and almost four years, and engaged just over two years.
How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?
We were on holiday and went down to sit on the beach to watch the sunset, luke asked to take a selfie and as I stood up, I turned around and he was on one knee! I couldn’t believe it and we were absolutely buzzing after that – talking all things wedding and it was the best moment!
What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many?
We always knew we wanted a barn, and after looking online and seeing many barns we came across cooling castle barn. it was the only one that really made us want to view, so we booked a viewing and as soon as we saw it we knew it was where we would get married. we booked a date right there and then for two years’ time. It had a dark and cosy feel to it as opposed to other barns that are more summery, and we wanted winter so Cooling castle was perfect.
What was the inspiration/theme of your wedding?
We wanted a really relaxed vibe that was very ‘us’. we wanted lots and lots of greenery with very minimal flowers. we wanted a really dark and moody look to it as we love the cosy winter feel to it. We wanted our day to reflect us by having our wedding our own styles and didn’t want it too ‘weddingy’. id say the theme is kind of like a winter moody boho style.
What is your first song and why?
Our first dance song was sam smith – latch (acoustic) because we felt it really made sense for us and we liked the twist on it being an acoustic version. we both knew this would be our song as soon as we heard it.
What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?
Trust your vision and go with it!
