I first met Sarah and Amrit when we took a trip around Greenwich for the pre-wedding engagement shoot. I knew then that their wedding day was going to be pretty awesome and I was not wrong. Not content on just the one day however, Sarah and Amrit held their wedding over two days, firstly at Chilston Park Hotel on the Thursday for their ceremony, then on to their Hoath House wedding on the Saturday. It was so great getting to know their friends and family over the two days and it will be a wedding i’ll not forget. So check out Sarah and Amrit’s amazing wedding day(s) below.
First names: Amrit & Sarah
Ages: 33 and 31
Wedding date: 14th July 2016 / 16th July 2016
Venue: Chilston Park Hotel – 14th, Hoath House – 16th
How did you guys meet, tell me all?
We used to work together. We started off as friends, going to gigs etc, and then we naturally became a couple. And that was 7 years ago!
How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?
We’d just bought our first house, and the day after we’d moved all of our belongings from our previous flat, we went to work as normal. Or so Sarah thought… Amrit had taken the day off and when she got home, had cleared a small space amongst all of our boxes for an indoor picnic, complete with candles and champagne, and had written “will you marry me?” on the wall. This short summary does not do it justice at all!
What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many?
Sarah is from Kent, so we wanted it to be in Kent, preferably somewhere with lots of outside space. We wanted somewhere that would allow us to have a marquee and for friends and family to be able to stay. Hoath House is in a lovely setting and ticked all of those boxes!
What was the inspiration/theme of your wedding?
The ceremony itself is quite small, so we wanted the Saturday event to be an opportunity to have a big celebration party with our friends and family.
What is your first song and why?
Your House by Jimmy Eat World. It’s certainly not a traditional choice, but they are one of the bands that we both love, and saw together before we were a couple. Amrit’s sister’s boyfriend is in the band – they are going to play an acoustic version of it which will be really special and personal.
What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?
Don’t stress the small things! (So much easier to say once your wedding is over, I’m sure!)
As this was a two day wedding, this blog post will be a little longer than usual. So, grab yourself a cup of tea and check out some of the best bits of Sarah and Amrit’s wedding days. From the service at Chilston Park Hotel to their Hoath House wedding reception below.
