Elegant wedding at Hartsfield Manor with Stacey and Gareth

Stacey and Gareth had a very beautiful and elegant wedding at Hartsfield Manor, which featured pastel coloured spring colours, a romantic ceremony and an all out epic party in the evening. From their engagement in the south of Spain, to the confetti canons on their wedding day, here is their story!Elegant wedding at Hartsfield Manor in Surrey

Stacey and Gareth

Wedding Date: 28th March 2015
Wedding budget: £14,000
Venue: Hartsfield Manor, Surrey.

How did you guys meet?
We met at work, different offices but same company.

How did you get engaged?
We both studied languages at University and did a year abroad as part of our courses. Part of my year abroad was spent in Granada in the south of Spain and it has remained my favourite place. Gareth took me back for a weekend in September 2013 and he proposed to me at the Mirador de san Nicolas which is a beautiful view point looking over the Alhambra palace and the entire city of Granada.
Prior to popping the question he had asked my fathers permission which may seem very old fashioned nowadays but it has always been something very important to my dad and i. He told me he was at rugby training one evening after work but instead he was speeding down the motorway from Surrey to Kent and back! I had no idea!

What made you choose your wedding venue?
We wanted to get married in Surrey as that is where we live and it was in the middle of our families. I am from Kent and Gareth is originally from Gloucester. Hartsfield Manor had everything we wanted, a beautiful house and gardens but still very down to earth and not pretentious. The house offered on site accommodation which was super important as we had friends and family coming from all over and enabled us to have breakfast with our guests the next day.

What was the inspiration for your wedding?
Light, spring pastel colours. A traditional and romantic ceremony followed by an epic party surrounded by our friends and family.

What did you enjoy most about your wedding?
Oh so much! For me, getting ready at the venue surrounded by my mum and my bridesmaids, walking down the aisle with my dad was wonderful, the ceremony was unforgettable, the speeches were brilliant but i think above all, it was having all of our friends and family together for one very happy celebration. There were a lot of people who had not met before and everyone got on so well and had such a great time! It was a great day!

Any fun or significant stories from the day?
My hair appointment over ran and I was terrified of arriving at the venue at the same time as Gareth so my wonderful bridesmaids coordinated with his best man to ensure they were waiting down the lane out of sight! Same thing happened every time i needed the loo when getting ready… with military precision i had to run to and from my parents room surrounded by my bridesmaids without being seen! It worked every time!

One tradition we did not want was a wedding cake…simply because we dont like cake…so we went for a ferrero rocher tower instead and it was a huge success.

We also made a family photo frame with pictures of our grandparents and our parents on their wedding day with a picture of Gareth and i in the middle surrounded by the family photos. it was a lovely sentimental touch and was a way of including those grandparents that are no longer with us.

“I do not know where to even begin! Ross was an absolutely fantastic person to have on board for our perfect day. From our initial meeting right through to receiving the beautiful wedding album, Ross was fantastic.”

– Stacey & Gareth

What was your first song and why?
Ellie Goulding, how long will i love you. We both like Ellie Goulding as her first album was always in the car at the start of our relationship so her music brings good memories and the song itself is the theme tune to a film called ‘About time’ which was mostly filmed on the road we lived on in London which was our first home together so it felt very special.

What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?
Never underestimate the power of finding your suppliers via referrals. Those suppliers who were recommended by friends and family were absolutely faultless from our photographer to my make up artist, every recommended supplier was fantastic!
