A Christmas wedding is certainly something magical. If done right, it can be one of the most talked about weddings for years to come! But what’s the best way to do it? Let’s look at this and create some inspiration that will have your guests ‘ho ho hoing’ all the way home.
A Christmas wedding and Christmas themed weddings are becoming more and more popular as the years go by. With costs spiralling way out of control for most venues in the ‘popular’ summer months, a lot of couples head for a date later in the year.
Lets look at it. August, the month everyone always heads for is probably one of the wettest months we have these days. If Britain were to have a ‘Monsoon’ period, this must be it! If it rains on your wedding day and you’ve chosen a nice summer month, you are going to be a little upset.
BUT, what if you choose a wedding on a wintery month? If it rains you will not worry near half as much! As it will have planned for a cold, dark and possibly wet day anyway. So, you’ve more than likely created a very cozy, warm and inviting space inside. Which means the weather can do what it wants!
Christmas weddings can offer a lot of magic and give you a wedding like no other. You can add what ever sparkle you feel necessary. Add the traditional reds and greens and make a hall look so special, that even Henry VIII would be proud of.
We’re talking festivity like Christmas trees, large open fires, big candles… Food wise, think of Victorian feasts, Pigs with roasted apples and large long tables. Bride dresses can look quite amazing if the correct amount of festivity is added.
What if you are into the ‘cheese’ that is Christmas. You are a Home Alone fan, or watch National Lampoons Christmas Vacation religiously every year. Then add it into your big day. Your wedding is about you and you alone. Your wedding day should have personality throughout and incorporate things you and your other half loves.
All in all I believe Christmas wedding’s are amazing and can be truly memorable for you family and friends.
