Wedding at Mountains Country House // Nicole and Dave

Wedding at Mountains Country House

Nicole and Dave’s wedding at Mountains Country House, with glorious sunshine, a stunning backdrop and awesome details was the perfect wedding for such a lovely couple. These guys know how to party and the evening certainly incorporated some rather cool dance moves. Check out their amazing day here.

First names: Nicole Campbell & Dave Booth
Ages: 34 & 30
Wedding date: 12th August 2017
Venue: Mountains Country House

How did you guys meet, tell me all?
We met 11 years ago in Christchurch, NZ. Dave was on his gap year travelling with friends and I was in my final year of drama school. To cut a long story short, we were introduced by my drama tutor as she thought it might be nice for the boys to meet and be shown the sights by a few kiwi girls their own age…. All I can say is there may have been a little holiday fling, which quickly turned into a full on fairy-tale romance and next thing I knew I was organising my UK Visa and booking one way flights! Here we are, 11 years on about to become Mr & Mrs Booth!

How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?
I had planned to ask Nicole when we were skiing over the New Year, but I couldn’t wait once I’d ordered the ring. I put the ring on the left arm of a teddy bear and gave it to Nicole on Christmas Day. Initially she didn’t see the ring so I had to subtly hint what the real present was. She reluctantly agreed to marry me.

What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many?
We knew we wanted an all-inclusive venue where could hold the whole event from ceremony through to the evening party. We looked at around 5 venues in the area but when we arrived at Mountains, we instantly fell in love. It not only ticked all the boxes, but had the right feel about it and we could easily imagine having our special day there.

What was the inspiration/theme of your wedding?
Initially we didn’t really have a specific theme in mind – my pinterest board was a mish mash of different colour schemes, themes, styles….I just couldn’t settle on what was “us”! But once we had chosen the venue it all just fell into place. Mountains naturally has quite a rustic/vintage/country wedding vibe so it wasn’t too difficult to agree on a style and colour scheme and build from there! (It also helped that Dave was very trusting of my styling ability and that he ALMOST always agreed with my suggestions!!). Pinterest and websites like “Rock My Wedding” also played a major role.

What is your first song and why?
We have chosen “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran.
It’s not the most original first song but to be honest, there are not many songs that both of us really like and could agree on! We both felt this song was appropriate; it is a beautiful song, with beautiful lyrics that we both connect with.

What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?
Dave says – let the bride do as much as she wants!! Has worked for us anyway 😉
In all seriousness though, plan and book all the major things as far in advance as possible and then sit back and enjoy being engaged each other! Also enjoy the planning process as it is supposed to be a special time – I have loved every moment. Don’t forget – it’s your special day, so do it YOUR way.
