Hayne House Wedding // Nic and Ian

Hayne House wedding
Meeting up with Nic and Ian, firstly for a coffee before booking, then for their pre-wedding shoot, I always knew this was going to be a fantastic wedding day! I was not wrong! This Hayne House wedding was everything the couple could have wished for and will live long in their guest’s memories. From the relaxed garden party vibe, to the funky, colourful dancing in the end. This was an amazing day! Check it out here.

First names: Ian and Nic
Ages: 28 and 30 (I’m marrying my toyboy!)
Wedding date: 2nd June 2017
Venue: Hayne House in Hythe

How did you guys meet, tell me all? We met 8 years ago whilst we were on holiday in Zante. Ian was away with the boys and me with the girls. We were staying in the same hotel and got talking as my suitcase hadn’t turned up at the airport, the rest is history!

How did you get engaged, is there a cool story? Ian planned a night away for my birthday at the ‘Who’d A Thought It’ in Lenham as a disguise for the engagement! The hotel is completely OTT and I’d always wanted to stay there! He went off to football on Saturday morning as usual and left me a present and card to open when I’d got back from the gym. The card said something along the lines of “Wear this, I’ll pick you up at 7.30, dinner is at 9” The present was a really cute dress and I spent the rest of the day trying to look for clues on where we were going! He proposed in our whacky hotel room before we went out for dinner that night.

What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many? It felt as though we looked at loads before we found Hayne House! It was really important to us that our guests could all be in one place to avoid people being tucked away in different areas of the venue. Hayne House has beautiful gardens with a marquee, it was just what we were looking for.

What was the inspiration/theme of your wedding? We want the whole day to feel fairly informal so that all of our guests can really relax and enjoy the day, so I guess we’re going for a garden party kind of feel! We’ve planned garden games (even though we’ve only got adults attending!) and are having a BBQ for the wedding breakfast.

What is your first song and why? We’ve chosen Perfect by Ed Sheeran. We both love Ed Sheeran and when we first heard this song, we knew it was the one! The words are lovely and it’s not too dramatic, which I think fits in with the general feel that we’re hoping to achieve on the day.

What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding? Be strong and do what you actually want to do for your day! It can be really difficult when you’re being offered advice about what you should be doing and how weddings should be. There’s no wrong or right these days when it comes to weddings, so make it your own!
